Stuart Surridge came to exist in 1867 when Stuart Surridge's grandfather started out by mending old cricket bats and selling them in his local area. As the years went on he started making his own cricket bats from willow trees from his own back garden. As the company grew it passed onto his son and then to his grandson (Stuart Surridge: Shown Above). Stuart Surridge became Captain of Surrey in the 1950's and was the most successful Surrey captain to date. Stuart Surridge became a famous name in the sport of cricket with its SS Jumbo cricket bat. The likes of WG Grace, Viv Richards, Graham Gooch and Lance Kluesner used the SS Jumbo cricket bat.
